Cigar and a deck: CasaHabano

CasaHabano is a perfect place to hangout. Located in Mipo, Haeundae, this member cigar lounge is located next to the stunning LCT Towers and the luxurious Signiel Hotel. Founded by local businessman Mike Conforme in 2019, CasaHabano has become a retreat for locals, visitors, and regular member.

CasaHabano is about a 30 minutes walk from the Haeundae subway station althought the stroll along Gunam-ro and the picturesque beach makes it all worthwhile.

While CasaHabano is primarily a members-only club, non-members are warmly welcomed for a lounge fee of W10,000, in addition to their drinks and cigars. This openness makes it accessible for those looking to experience its unique charm without committing to membership.

CasaHabano’s main appeal is exquisite Cuban cigars, sourced from Pierre Cigar Ltd., a Seoul-based business with exclusive rights to import these sought-after delights into South Korea. However, the competition for Cuban cigars in Asia, particularly from the booming Chinese market, means that the seclection can be limited at times.

One of the most compelling aspects of CasaHabano is its relaxed atmosphere, which fosters easy conversation among new and old friends. The clientele is a vibrant mix of nationalities, with Koreans, Americans, and a notable Russian contingent often mingling. It’s also a popular spot for US military personnel visiting Busan, and thanks to Mike’s personal connection to the military, they enjoy complimentary lounge access.

The club has cultivated a strong sense of community, with a core group of members who frequently gather to celebrate holidays and special occasions. Nevertheless, non-member guests are always welcome, adding to the lively and welcoming environment.

While I wouldn’t consider myself a heavy drinker, I appreciate the quality-over-quantity approach to beverages. CasaHabano offers a diverse selection of fine liquors and beers, perfect for those who, like me, value a comfortable space for relaxation and conversation. As someone who enjoys cigars—not just for the taste but for the sentimental memories they evoke of my father—the experience at CasaHabano resonates deeply with me. I feel as though I am relaxing in my own living room.

CasaHabano is a scenic retreat, and a place of personal significance. It is also a cozy spot to unwind whether you’re a seasoned cigar aficionado or simply looking for a cozy spot to unwind. I wholeheartedly recommend this delightful oasis to anyone seeking a unique and memorable experience in the heart of Haeundae.
